“The choice of careful aging and the meticulous work of selection and then blending carried out by Marcel and Philippe Guigal sublimate the consistency and excellence of the wines of La Collection, true benchmarks in the great Rhodanian appellations”. Exemplary for its regularity, the Côtes du Rhône from the Guigal house is each year a reference in the matter, where Syrah and Grenache marry marvelously.

Terroir: This wine comes from very varied soils made up of sediments, granite limestone, alluvium and pebbles. With vines averaging 35 years old, this range of soils is reflected in the complexity of the wine.

Vinification and aging: The harvest and vinification are traditional: control of fermentation temperatures, long macerations in order to obtain a good extraction of tannins and a good balance. The aging lasts one year, in stainless steel vats to preserve the fruit and partly in half oak barrels to bring structure and complexity.

Tasting: The robe is deep and brilliant dark red, and the nose is marked by black fruits and spices, characteristic of Syrah. Ample and racy, the tannins are melted, coated but present in the mouth. This wine is distinguished by its breadth, warmth and aromatic intensity. Complete, perfectly balanced, the finish lengthens and marks the spirits.

Food & wine pairings: Accompanies charcuterie, meats and cheeses.
